Section titled “Featured This Week”First Cherry Tomatoes of the Season
Section titled “First Cherry Tomatoes of the Season”This is an early, small harvest, so each box receives a small bag rather than a full portion. Larger harvests should follow as the crop reaches full production.
Store cherry tomatoes at room temperature, out of direct sunlight. Do not refrigerate unless they are extremely ripe and need to be held briefly. Use them in salads, pasta, bruschetta, grain bowls, or as a snack.
Use These First — Days 1–2
Section titled “Use These First — Days 1–2”These are the most time-sensitive items in the bin — plan to use them within the first couple of days.
| Crop | Why |
|---|---|
| 🥗 Lettuce Heads | Use while crisp and fresh. |
| 🍃 Rainbow Swiss Chard | Leaves are tender and best used early. |
| 🌿 Fresh Oregano | Strongest flavour and best texture while fresh. |
| 🍅 Cherry Tomatoes | Keep at room temperature and enjoy as they ripen. Use within several days for the best flavour. |
Mid-Week — Days 3–5

Save for Later — Days 5+
Section titled “Save for Later — Days 5+”The hardiest items in the bin — can stretch into next week if needed.
| Crop | Notes |
|---|---|
| 🥕 Carrots | Remove tops if attached and refrigerate. |
| Beets | Remove greens and refrigerate roots separately. |
Note: Red Torpedo Onion may stretch longer if stored properly, but keep it in mind as a mid-week item — it’s a fresh onion rather than a fully cured storage onion.
Storage Tips
Section titled “Storage Tips”Item-by-item notes
Section titled “Item-by-item notes”- Carrots — remove tops if attached; refrigerate in a produce bag or sealed container in the high-humidity crisper.
- Lebanese Cucumbers — refrigerate wrapped in a cloth or produce bag in the crisper.
- Rainbow Swiss Chard — separate stems and leaves if convenient; refrigerate each in a produce bag or sealed bag. Cook stems before leaves.
- Red Torpedo Onion — treat as a fresh onion rather than a fully cured storage onion; refrigerate in the crisper.
- Beans — refrigerate dry in a produce bag and use while crisp.
- Fresh Oregano — refrigerate lightly wrapped in a damp paper towel, or place stems in a small glass of water.
- Lettuce Heads — refrigerate in a produce bag or container with a dry paper towel in the high-humidity crisper.
- Beets — remove greens immediately and refrigerate roots and greens separately.
- French Breakfast Radishes — remove tops and refrigerate roots in a bag or container.
- Cherry Tomatoes — store at room temperature out of direct sun. Do not refrigerate unless they are very ripe and need to be held briefly.
Glen’s tip: Separating the stems from the leaves removes some of the pressure to use the entire bunch immediately. Chop and refrigerate the stems and leaves in separate bags, then cook the stems first.
Crisper note
Section titled “Crisper note”Leafy greens prefer the high-humidity setting. Keep lettuce and greens bagged or contained so they don’t dry out. Roots and sturdy brassicas generally last longer once their tops are removed.
